Strange question by students about reading scientific papers

Many students from Physical Science background ask me whether I still read scientific paper written by others. I feel this question is very strange. First of all papers are written for reading. Not for some other purpose. Yes, I read paper whenever I have time. I need to read paper to update my knowledge in the related field, to make new idea about my research and to compare my idea with others.

I think, who raise such a question does not know how to read a scientific papers. I suggest them to google some resource about how to read scientific paper.
